Editorial standards
Character Countly aims to provide tools and explanations that are accurate, transparent and directly useful.
Counting definitions
We distinguish user-visible grapheme clusters, code points and bytes. Where platform-specific limits use different rules, the tool must disclose that limitation.
Tool limitations
Estimates such as AI token counts, reading times and search snippets should never be presented as exact predictions. We explain assumptions and avoid universal formulas when the result depends on language, application or model.
Editing safely
Text transformations should provide previews and recovery controls. We avoid silently deleting or rewriting user content.
Accuracy and corrections
We use reproducible calculation methods wherever feasible and prioritize correcting inaccurate or outdated behavior. Published tool descriptions should reflect functionality that exists, rather than planned features.
